Poynton Dippers is a small, friendly
swimming club for all the family. Sessions are
available for everyone ranging from Children, Juniors,
Teenagers, Adults all the way through to Seniors with
lessons designed to meet specific needs of all ages and
abilities. All sessions are run by a fully qualified
swimming coach assisted by one or more pool side
helpers. The pool side staff are volunteers and they
are all CRB
checked.

|
| Children |
|
Children are welcome to join from the
age of seven once they are able to swim a length of the
pool on their front and on their back (this ability is
loosely equivalent to Level 7 or Level 8 of the
ASA awards
in swimming lessons). |
| Juniors |
|
Junior children usually start out by attending the
Saturday morning sessions. This session is designed to
concentrate on stroke development. As ability improves,
children progress to the evening sessions held on
Tuesdays and Thursdays. These evening sessions continue
with stroke development but also concentrate on building
strength and stamina as well as specific skills needed
for competition swimming - for example tumble turns and
racing dives. Once children move up to these week day
sessions they can attend on as many nights as they wish
to. |
| Teenage and Adult |
Teenage and Adult swimmers are catered for at Poynton
Dippers within separate sessions to those of the Junior
swimmers. These sessions provide opportunities to
improve stamina and overall fitness within a group of
likeminded people in a relaxed environment!
